The Name of the Band Is...

....Cowboy Mouth! These New Orleans troubadours have survived lineup changes, divorces, marriages, and the ravages of time and tide to bring their high-velocity take on a rock and roll revival tent roadshow to the masses. Original members Fred LeBlanc (drums and vocals) and John Thomas Griffith (guitars) are rounded out my bassist and Dash Rip Rock alum Brian Broussard and Matt Jones (formerly of Jimmie's Chicken Shack) on bass. Their sound epitomizes the term swamp rock, a potent gumbo of secular and sacred music that fuses rock, blues, and the gospel tunes Fred learned as an altar boy.

They're playing 2 shows in the area next week - Thursday at the 9:30 Club, and Saturday at Rams Head On Stage in Annapolis.
