It's the end of the week, and that can only mean one thing - Free Music Friday! Today we have a trio of songs from the NYC-based Balkan-Turkish Sherita. These tracks were recorded live last month at the Zlatne Uste Golden Festival, New York's largest Balkan music festival.
If you enjoy the Eastern European sounds of bands like Beirut, A Hawk and a Hacksaw, or Gogol Bordello, you'll enjoy this traditionalist take on the music that inspired those artists.
These songs are licensed under Creative Commons, as are the bulk of the songs at the Free Music Archive. Remember to tip your bartender, and please support the artists and institutions that make the archive possible. You can purchase Sherita's music through their Bandcamp page.
