Though Washington and Baltimore's alternative rock station WHFS went off the air at it's old home of 99.1 FM months ago, the station found a new home shortly after at 105.7 FM, where HFS music can be heard throughout the weekend and where some former 99.1 DJs now host shows. Plans have also begun for the 2005 HFStival, including the Big Break, which each year gives a local band the opportunity to open the HFStival. Bands have until 3pm Friday, April 1 to submit their CD. DJs Big O and Dukes will announce the five finalists at noon on Monday, April 4 on 105.7. Those five bands will then compete on Friday, April 8 at the Recher Theatre for the festival's opening slot. More details, including a publicity release form, are available at www.live1057.com.
